NYSSA — Nyssa FFA has received a $2,000 grant from the Wilco-FFA Grants Program. These funds have supported the Nyssa FFA Chapter in buying a stock trailer to be used by chapter members to transport livestock and other projects throughout the year to weigh-ins, competitions and events.

Wilco is a farmer-owned cooperative headquartered in the rural Oregon town of Mt. Angel. Wilco focuses on a commitment to core values and community while striving to be a progressive company known for growth and innovation while supplying today’s agricultural needs. FFA Forever is Wilco’s ongoing campaign to raise funds and awareness for Oregon and Washington FFA. FFA Forever comprises several events and fundraising activities throughout the year where Wilco, their vendor-partners, customers and employees have combined to raise more than $150,000 per year for FFA.

More than 50 in Nyssa’s chapter

The Nyssa High School FFA Chapter currently has 52 members. The Agricultural Education Program works hand-in-hand with the FFA Chapter and offers a wide array of classes from leadership to welding and greenhouse management. The Nyssa High School agriculture teacher and FFA adviser is Chad Cruickshank.
