Four Rivers Relay for Life switches venues this year, shortens event time

Paper luminaria lines the track at the Relay For Life Four Rivers event in June of 2015. Each was lit up with tealights later that evening in memory of those lost to cancer.

ONTARIO — Four Rivers Relay for Life, an annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, will be at a different venue this year, and it will not be an overnight event as it has been in the past.

This year’s event will be from 5 to 11 p.m. Saturday in the Hikaru Mizu Japanese Garden at Four Rivers Cultural Center. Survivors will still be celebrated with luminaria bags lit up in the evening, and there will still be a walking path.

The Cultural Center is at 676 S.W. Fifth Ave.
