ONTARIO — The next meeting of Malheur Country Historical Society will begin at noon Thursday.

For the upcoming meeting, Rod Cowgill — a Malheur County citizen for nearly 80 years and an airplane enthusiast who has been interested in flying all his life — will discuss the history of aviation of the area as he saw it growing up.

“As an excited 7-year-old, Rod rode in an airplane with his uncle and was forever hooked. His greatest pride and joy is that he designed, hand built and test piloted his very own airplane,” reads an email about the upcoming meeting.

Meal is available at 11:30 a.m.

The meetings are held in Room 10 of the Weese Building, Treasure Valley Community College, 650 College Blvd., Ontario.
