ONTARIO – One more opening at Ontario High School has been filled as the Tigers are bringing in a new girls basketball coach. Anthony Brown.

Brown played college basketball for Washington State University before transferring to Eastern Oregon University. Brown is close friends with current Ontario boys basketball coach Kevin Attila as the two crossed paths at EOU.

Earlier in the summer, the Tigers made hires for a couple of fall sports, starting with Jessica Rodriguez as the new volleyball coach. Rodriguez is no stranger to the area, as she coached at Nyssa 10 years ago.

Rodriguez coached the seventh grade team at Ontario Middle School last season while working as a substitute teacher.

Last fall, the Tigers were coached by the duo of Lindsay and Krista DeVries, going 1-15 on the season. The DeVries’ were hired after Candace Zugner stepped down.

After the volleyball hire, Ontario brought in Tony Cade as the new football coach. Cade will be taking over after Erik Johnson left in late spring to be the new head coach at Eagle Point High School.
