ONTARIO — Despite a heroic effort on the mound from Seth Forsyth, the Treasure Valley Stars were unable to come out with the win on Thursday evening against the Idaho Prospects in the first day of their weekend tournament. The Prospects won the game 6-5 in eight innings.

The Stars held a 5-2 lead heading into the sixth inning. The Prospects took the lead in the top of the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly.

Forsyth, an Ontario High School alumnus, pitched seven innings, striking out eight. Colton Seal came in to pitch for the eighth inning.

Vance Morales had two RBIs for the Stars.

The weekend tournament will continue through Sunday. The Stars will play Kimberly at 1 p.m. and RA Baseball Academy at 7 p.m. on Friday.
