Edith Franco

Ontario senior Edith Franco, front middle, signed her letter of intent to join the cross country and track and field teams at Treasure Valley Community College in late May.

ONTARIO – The Tigers were able to sneak in one more athlete to the college ranks this year, as Ontario senior Edith Franco has signed her letter of intent to join the track and field and cross country teams at Treasure Valley Community College.

While Franco has spent her high school career running the sprints for the Tigers, Ontario running coach Paul Bentz said TVCC coach Blas Guerra sees potential for Franco to become a strong mid-distance runner.

Bentz said Franco’s long strides were something that caught Guerra’s eye.

In her career at Ontario, Franco never ran cross country as she was a member of the soccer team.

Bentz said Franco is the “strong silent type that showed up and put in the work” every day.
