ONTARIO — After a brief search, Ontario High School has announced that Josh Mink will be the new athletic director.
According to a release from the Ontario School District, Mink is currently a school counselor in Wyoming, where he also coaches basketball and track and field. Before that, Mink was an athletic director in public school and at the Boys & Girls Club in the Portland area.
Mink received his training from a number of institutions, including Portland State University, Eastern Oregon University, Chemeketa Community College and Lewis & Clark College. He also taught English in both Japan and Korea.
According to the release, Mink has experience “working with students of all socioeconomic levels and abilities, finding ways to meet their needs. He trains teachers in programs such as Restorative Justice and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and is known for his communication and organization skills.”
Mink will take over for Manny Alvarado, who will be stepping down as athletic director after 10 years at Ontario High School.
