ONTARIO — After five seasons of leading the Ontario football team, Erik Johnson has stepped down as head coach to accept a different job. Johnson will be the new head coach of the football team at Eagle Point High School.
The Eagles are a 5A program and finished the 2018 season with a 6-3 (2-3 league) record.
Johnson took over the head coaching job at Ontario High School in 2013. The Tigers have won at least a share of the Greater Oregon League district championship over the past three seasons under Johnson.
In six years, Johnson led the Tigers to a 28-28 overall record and a 16-5 GOL record.
Johnson also taught PE/health at Ontario High School.
