The Argus Observer has printed an opinion on the cap and trade deal being put forward by the state of Oregon.

The atmosphere of the planet earth is practically nil above 10,000 ft. with 50% under 5,000 ft. Human beings have been a part of the world around 65,000 years.

Your erroneous observation is troubling and clearly out of touch with provable modern science. 10,000 ft — think about that, around 2 miles. From downtown Ontario to the Idaho border. That’s it. This thin membrane of our shared atmosphere is all we’ve got to protect us and sustain us. If polluting this thin layer is OK with you, then you must bear the repercussions and responsibility that your grandchildren and great-grandchildren will have to endure.
