Larry Dean Wood, 73, passed away, November 16, 2019, in a Spokane, Washington hospital.
Larry was born September 28, 1946 in Ontario, Or., the son of Harry and Elsie Wood.
Larry married Elaine Dowell on January 7, 1963, they lived most of their lives in Payette and Fruitland. They eventually moved to the Tri-Cities, Washington. They had four children, Kellie, Dean, Leslie, and David. Larry lost Elaine, the love of his life, on February 6, 1989 after her battle with breast cancer.
Soon after her death he married Marcine Chaney and adopted her three children, Scott, Brenda, and Daniel. Larry and Marcine moved to California so he could advance his career in the auto industry. They moved to Lewiston, Idaho upon his early retirement due to health issues. They finally settled in Spokane, Washington.
Larry loved his family, he was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a devoted husband. Larry enjoyed cooking (especially his world-famous homemade chicken noodle soup). He enjoyed football, baseball, and Nascar. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, guns, and motorcycles in his younger years. He had a dry sense of humor which most of his children inherited.
Larry is survived by his wife Marcine; daughters, Kellie, Leslie, and Brenda; sons, Dean, David, and Daniel. Grandchildren, Amber, Heather, Andrew, Zachary, Hailey, Tyson, Mathew, Sophia, Matti, Samantha, Tanner, Madeline, Parker, Hannah, Sara, Johnny, Dominic, Chole, James, and Jillian. Great grandchildren Hunter, Allie, Jace, Lakelynn, Rowynn, and Haley; brother Gary Wood; and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by wife Elaine; his parents, Harry and Elsie; brothers Jim and Delmar; sisters Mildred and Lorraine; and son Scott.
Funeral services will be held November 30 at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 401 W Regina Ave., Spokane, Washington. A graveside service will be held December 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rosendale Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Payette, Idaho.
There will be a celebration of life on December 7, 2019 at his daughter Kellie Suing’s home located at 25 S 20th Street in Payette, Idaho following the graveside service. Please join us in celebrating our dad’s life.
