The second of three Omega Morgan megaload shipments passing through Malheur County crossed the border into Idaho early Sunday morning, according to Tom Davis, Region Operations Coordinator for the Oregon Department of Transportation.
One load remains to be shipped through the area en route to the tar sands oil fields in Alberta, Canada, but according to Tom Strandberg, a spokesman for ODOT, it could be some time before that load arrives.
“The last I heard was it might be a while before I moves, but I haven't had any real clarification on that yet,” Strandberg said. “So far nobody's said when it will move but they did say it might be a while.”
Currently, the load is at the Port of Umatilla where it arrived by barge after being assembled in Portland.
