ONTARIO — The Ontario City Council has officially changed the time of its work sessions as of Thursday’s meeting. The amended meeting time will take place at the next council work session, Sept. 12, shifting the time from noon to 6 p.m.
Council members cited the fact that the sessions were held during a time of day that was difficult for community members to attend if they are working during the day.
Councilor Norm Crume stated that the noon meetings were a financial hardship for him and his business in particular.
Councilor Ramon Palomo suggested that most people are for meetings being after hours. He went on to say that the council has to work with City Hall and the citizens to make it happen.
“I want what works best for the most people,” said Councilor Michael Braden.
City Manager Adam Brown said, “We’ll adapt to what the council wants.”
After taking a final vote, the motion to change future meeting times for the City Council work sessions passed.
