Kiwi Loco Frozen Yogurt is partnering with Next Chapter Food Pantry and Garden for its monthly fundraiser on Thursday. Proceeds of any purchases made at the yogurt shop between 5 and 9 p.m. that day will benefit the pantry. Kiwi Loco is at 180 East Lane.
  2. On this day in 1994, French agents working in Sudan captured Carlos The Jackal, a Venezuelan militant responsible for some of the highest-profile terrorist attacks of the 1970s and 1980s, according to Britannica.
  3. Also on this day, back in 1935, the Social Security Act was established by the U.S. Congress. The system’s intended purpose being to provide a permanent old-age pension system for the elderly through employer and employee contributions, according to Britannica.
