Scarecrow honoring ag winner of chamber’s annual contest

This scarecrow put together by staff at Valley Family Health Clinic was the winner for this year’s annual contest hosted by the Nyssa Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.

NYSSA — The Nyssa Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture wrapped up its scarecrow contest announcing that Valley Family Health Clinic in Nyssa was the winner on Tuesday evening, during the chamber board’s monthly meeting.

The clinic staff’s entry was a farmer surrounded by onions and accompanied by a poem honoring farmers and their importance to the valley.

Next, chamber members turn their attention upcoming events during the holiday period.

The main activities will be on Dec. 7, leading off with the lighting of the Christmas tree at Thunderegg Memorial Park, at 4:30 p.m, accompanied by caroling and other activities. The annual Nite Lite parade will start at 6 p.m. at the west end of town. The theme for the parade will be “Candyland.”
