ONTARIO — This coming Monday, Ontario Public Works Department will be joining forces with the Oregon Department of Transportation to begin the process of initiating river clean-up operations. This project will last through Oct. 18, and will cover city and state-owned property north of the water treatment plant.

This effort will be focused on the vegetation and “shoreline stabilization” of this property and make provisions to prevent further river contamination.

Beginning Tuesday, the Ontario Police Department will begin posting trespass notices on these properties to advise individuals who may be using these areas.

The police department will be making multiple sweeps of this area during the clean-up process.

For information regarding the clean-up project, contact Cliff Leeper, director of Public Works, at (541) 889-8572.
