PAYETTE — Idaho State Police say a 67-year-old Nampa woman died on Sunday evening after the vehicle she was driving crossed the median on the interstate and struck a semi truck head on.
According to a news release, the crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday at milepost 14.4 on Interstate 84, just east of Payette.
Police say that Katheryn E. Laframboise was traveling east in a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. At the same time, Christopher D. Snyder, 52, of Pensacola, Florida, was traveling west in a 2019 Cascadia 126 Freightliner.
For unknown reasons, police say Laframboise crossed through the median and into the westbound lanes hitting the commercial vehicle head on.
She died on scene as a result of injuries.
The driver of the semi truck was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance to be treated for injuries.
Both occupants were wearing seatbelts, according to State Police, which is continuing its investigation.
