ONTARIO — For over 40 years, Oregon Natural Market has served Ontario and the surrounding community. The grocer has been supplying natural food options, organic produce and nutritional supplements to customers in the area and beyond for almost half a century.

Recently the Oregon Natural Market’s website made an announcement under the heading of Deli (Coming Soon).

Market co-owner and staff nutritionist, Michael Chase, who holds an advanced degree in nutrition and dietetics, took a few moments to explain what can be expected for this operation.

Chase explained half of the current refrigeration unit, located by the door, will be converted into a “grab and go”-style deli. He said customers will be able to get sandwiches, salads, soups, hummus and dips, among other deli items once the renovation has been completed.

Chase said the idea behind this new option was the desire to “produce clean, healthy food.” He also said the new deli menu items will be made off-site and brought to the store for sale each day, so there will not be an on-site, made-to-order option. This idea has been in the works for a while and Chase explained that the employee who is overseeing the production will be hard at work making this deli a reality soon and he anticipates opening this new section of the store either this winter or in early 2020.
