Ontario Police Lt. Jason Cooper lauded for stepping ‘right in’ as interim chief

Ontario Police Lt. Jason Cooper, center, receives a plaque from Ontario City Manager Adam Brown, honoring Cooper for his service as interim police chief, between the departure of former Chief Cal Kunz, and the arrival of the new chief Steven Romero, at left. The presentation was made during the City Council work session on Wednesday. “He just stepped right in,” Brown said of Cooper, noting he enjoyed “getting to learn about his sense of humor.” Cooper in response said, “It’s an honor and privilege to serve the community.”

Departure of Former Police Chief Cal Kunz and arrival of new police chief Steven Romero was celebrated at a very good ceremony. This man Cal Kunz has earned a lot of respect.
