NYSSA — The Nyssa City Council on Tuesday adopted a resolution to allow the city to participate in a program in which the League of Oregon Cities will provide free legal advice to eastern Oregon Cities, including Nyssa.
According to the resolution, the legal advice program was created in June this year and will allow the league’s attorneys to provide direct legal advice under certain conditions and parameters, and the city is required to adopt a resolution and enter an agreement with the league agreeing to the terms and conditions of the program.
Under terms of the contract, the league will provide 15 hours of free legal advice every year.
In another resolution, the council recommended approval of the state liquor license application for Devin R. Trone, who operates the Nyssa liquor store, in conjunction with Medicap Pharmacy.
Both have been located in M&W Market and there are plans to move the businesses to the former Umpqua Bank building at the corner of Main and South Third Street.
