Nonprofit hosts vaccine clinic on Saturday; incentives and meals provided

A drive-up vaccine clinic for people in Phase 1a will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday in the parking garage at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center-Ontario, Southwest Third Avenue entrance.

VALE — The Eastern Oregon Center for Independent Living will host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Vale on Saturday and is offering incentives, as well as transportation to get there for those in need.

According to a news release from the agency, the clinic will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on the corner of Washington and Court streets.

There will be Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines and boosters, as well as high-dose and low-dose influenza shots and the flu mist.

Individuals who receive a first, second or third dose of Moderna will receive a $25 gift card. Those who get their first J&J shot will get a $50 gift card, and those getting J&J boosters will get a $25 gift card.

In addition, there will be food boxes for the first 30 people receiving vaccines and meals provided those getting vaccines.

According to the news release, Malheur Drug is providing the vaccinations and Chabelitas is providing food during the event.
