ADRIAN — The Tuesday deadline is fast approaching for applicants to apply for interim superintendent of the Adrian School District, however at the time of this week’s school board meeting, nobody had applied for the position. This news was delivered to the board at its Oct. 12 meeting by Mark Redmond, acting interim superintendent for Adrian and superintendent of Malheur Education Service District.
The Adrian School Board of Directors voted on nominations for the superintendent committee that will oversee the hiring, during their Tuesday night meeting.
It is unknown at this time whether the school board will extend the application deadline if nobody applies by the deadline.
The search for the interim superintendent is taking place after the board’s dismissal of former superintendent Kevin Purnell in August. Redmond, who is splitting his time between the Malheur ESD and Adrian School District is not being paid as the interim superintendent for Adrian.
