Emerging Leaders Summit draws a crowd

Students, parents, and community leaders participated in a collaborative activity where each student found a person they never met before, introduced themself, found both something different and something in common with that person, before switching to a new person during the 2018 Emerging Leaders Summit.

ONTARIO — The Emerging Leaders Summit is making a return to Treasure Valley Community College from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Speaker EJ Carrion will engage high school and college age attendees. Carrion grew up in low-income communities and a single-parent home. A powerful life-changing event caused him to transform his trajectory after he had began to slip in academics.

He is the co-founder and CEO of Student Success Agency, which a peer advisory network for aimed at helping students with high school-to-college transitional skills and helping them succeed in the real world.

There will be prizes, $1,000 in scholarships, and free food and Dutch Bros drinks for attendees.
