PAYETTE — A man has been arrested following a stabbing on Sunday afternoon that sent one man to a Boise hospital.
On Sunday, just before 5 p.m., Payette Police, Payette County Sheriff’s deputies, Fruitland Police and Idaho State Police all responded to a call regarding a man with a stab wound at 1326 6th Ave. S in Payette.
According to Payette Police Chief John Plaza, the victim, Todd Kopp, 47, was taken via helicopter to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise with life-threatening injuries.
Inslee Jordan, 34, was arrested at the scene with help from the Payette County Special Response Team, the release states. Idaho State Police took over the investigation and the crime scene, Plaza stated.
Jordan was arraigned on one felony case of aggravated battery on Tuesday afternoon in front of Judge Brian Lee. Jordan’s next hearing will be on Sept. 17.
As Kopp is a victim of a violent crime, HIPAA — a federal health privacy act — prevents medical facilities from releasing any information, including whether the victim was a patient there. No update on Kopp’s condition was available from police.
