VALE — Having been through one short session and one long session of the Oregon Legislature, Rep. Lynn Findley, R-Vale, finds himself in a major position, as the whip on the House Republican leadership team, behind House Republican Leader Christine Drazan, R-Canby, and House Republican Deputy Leader Daniel Bonham, R-The Dalles.
Also on the House Republican leadership team is Rep. Greg Smith, R-Heppner, who is an ex-officio member from his position as a co-vice chair of the Legislature’s Joint Ways and Means Committee. Smith is Malheur County’s Economic Development Director.
As minority Whip, Findley will be keeping in communications with all House Republicans, making sure they are informed of all Republican caucus positions and votes on various pieces of legislation keeping them unified and communicating members positions with the rest of the caucus, he said.
Having worked at different levels of government, including federal and local, gives him the experience needed for his new position within the Republican cause, Findley said.
Findley had a long career with the Bureau of Land Management before he retired and was Vale City Manager for five years prior to becoming a state lawmaker.
