Alameda Elementary student Garret Beckham, 11, got a surprise at the top of a school awards assembly today, when members of Ontario Fire & Rescue paid him a visit to present him a very special award: a lifesaving award, which was presented to him by Ontario Fire Lt. Allen Montgomery, who was on the team that answered the call. Also present was Cindy Turner, the neighbor whose life Garret is credited with saving.
