A celebration and exhibition game was held at the Miracle League of Payette during Harmon Killebrew Days on April 18. The game marks the anniversary of the opening of the Harmon Killebrew Miracle Field and is the program’s annual fundraiser, which procures sponsorships to cover annual expenses for the Miracle League of Payette.

With four summer playing seasons behind them, the Harmon Killebrew Miracle Field continues to grow in participation and community support. The baseball field provides a level playing surface to accommodate individuals with special needs or disabilities. Players are welcome from everywhere in Idaho and Oregon and are not charged anything to play America’s favorite pastime, baseball.

Donations received each year are earmarked to cover all expenses for the program from maintenance to equipment, to players’ uniforms. This year’s sponsorship pledges have reached just over $4,900. Those generous sponsors are: C & T Storage - Payette, Malheur Federal Credit Union, Overhead Door - New Plymouth, Columbia Bank, Allied Business Solutions, Knights of Columbus - Weiser, Kohn Foods/Subway, Stan’s Heating, Buck’s Bags, Boise Hawks Baseball, MoneyTree, Seneca Foods, Teton Machine Co., BP Financial Services, Burke Electric, DL Evans Bank, Hendon Welding and Hanigan Motors.

The official playing season for the Miracle League of Payette will begin on May 23. Information about playing dates, times, player and volunteer registration information can be found on the league’s website at www.miracleleagueofpayette.com. Community members are encouraged to come and cheer the Miracle Players during the playing season from May 23 to July 25.
