Elton James Hunsucker, 83, Fruitland, died Dec. 3, 2018. The family invites you to join them in a Celebration of Life on December 16th at 3:00 p.m. at the Fruitland Church of the Brethren.
He was born April 25, 1935 in Wichita, KS to James Beaugard Hunsucker and Eva Mae (Alexander) Hunsucker. He was joined by his two sisters, Faye and Margaret.
Elton grew up in the Ontario area and graduated from Ontario High School in 1953. During his life, he worked as a meat cutter, mill worker and in law enforcement, retiring from the Payette County Sheriff’s Office in 1997.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorraine (Bishop) of Fruitland, son Robert (Tana) Hunsucker, of Ontario, daughter Laurel (William) Price Jr. of Ontario, and son Darin (Ronette) Hunsucker, Caldwell.
Elton is also survived by seven grandchildren, Trinity (Cody) Beagles, Dani (Josh) Ware, Emily Price, Will Price, Jeremy (Sarah) Hunsucker, Josh Hunsucker, Jayden Hunsucker, and five great grandchildren, Emma Beagles, Dylan Beagles, Ava Hunsucker, Ayden Hunsucker and soon to arrive baby Ware. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Charlie Elliott.
Elton was predeceased by his mom, dad, sister Faye and her husband Lester Webster, sister Margaret Elliott, son Keith and two nephews Rocke and Jimmy Elliott.
Elton was a man who loved God, appreciated life and family above all, and felt that they were the glue that bound together the meaning and purpose for his life. He also had many close cousins and friends, especially Delmar and Evelyn Skeen and Kevin and Terry Tams.
The family would like to express a huge thank you to everyone at St. Luke’s, Nampa, for their compassion and care of Elton in his last days.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Baby Bank mission work in c/o the Fruitland Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 309, Fruitland, ID 83619.
