Treasure Valley Quiltmakers is hosting a fundraising raffle this month, with a drawing planned for Nov. 1.
The raffle is of a quilt called Mill Girls, named after young women who worked in mills and sewing shops around 1900. The quilt measures 98 inches square, and was begun by a woman in Vale, then completed by the quilting group.
Proceeds will be used to purchase fabric to make quilts that will be donated to local burnout victims as well as local charities.
For more information about raffle tickets, contact Carolyn Ward at (541) 212-9517 or Gayle Franklin at (541) 889-6602.
The quiltmaking group meets the third Thursday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 842 Alameda Drive, Ontario.
Anyone who is interested in quilting with a purpose, can contact Ward or Franklin.
