The Payette County Challenge will be held on Saturday, June 22.

This all-day, community event pits 12 teams of two against each other in a series of challenges across the county, including a dozen “Amazing Race”-type roadblocks that will test their physical, mental, and gastro-intestinal strength.

Team registration is $50, with a grand prize of $500 for the first team across the finish line. The public is invited to watch the teams attempt the challenges. The starting line is in front of the Payette Public Library at 10 a.m., with the rest of the route being a closely guarded secret. It will, however, include challenges in New Plymouth, Fruitland, and Payette.

The Challenge is the annual fund-raising event for the Paula D Winsor Foundation, which this year will be awarding scholarships to students in the high school’s Certified Nursing Assistant program. Students in the program are responsible for providing their own stethoscope, safe shoes and scrub uniforms for their practicum, and state testing fees.

To donate to the scholarship fund, or to find out more about the event, including team registration, visit PayetteCounty-Challenge.org or email PDWFoundation@cableone.net.
