Payette County has officially lifted its burn ban. The ban, which went into effect July 12, was initially set until Oct. 1, however, changing conditions caused county officials to lift the ban sooner than expected, on Tuesday.

The Payette County Board of Commissioners approved the burn ban, which was requested by Payette Rural Fire Chief Steve Castenada, New Plymouth Rural Fire Chief Allen Blevins, and Sand Hollow Rural Fire Chief Toby Robinson.

The ban does not include the City of Fruitland.
