Mike Kee, left, is administered the oath of office Monday night as a newly appointed member of the Payette City Council, replacing Vonnie Paul, a councilor who was no longer eligible to serve after moving to a home outside of the city limits. Mayor Jeff Williams, right, administers the oath. Kee, a former Ontario City Police chief and former city manager for Baker City, most recently served on the City of Payette Planning and Zoning Commission. Williams recommended him to the city council two weeks ago for appointment, but three councilors voted at that time to effectively postpone the decision. Monday night, however, the vote in favor of Kee’s appointment was unanimous.
