Locals farmers offer lavender fest

These lavender plants are growing at Lavender Gardens of Payette, which is just outside of city limits on Washoe Road, and is preparing for its first ever festival on Saturday, July 13.

Lavender Gardens of Payette, which is just outside of city limits at 9090 Washoe Rd., is preparing for the first ever U-Pick Lavender Festival which is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13.

Attendees can peruse products items offered by 10 vendors, including the organizer and owner of the farms, Pam Hemenway, who will be selling food products such as scones, shortbread cookies, fudge, lemonade and iced tea. Hemenway’s daughter, Cari Tschirgi, will also be at the festival.
