Hey, folks, the Payette Senior Center is hosting a good, old-fashioned “Hoe Down” from 6 to 9 p.m. on June 29. Just for Fun will be playing live music. A meal consisting of barbecued pork sliders, coleslaw, and baked beans, coffee, tea, and lemonade will be available. This is a fundraiser to replace the motor in our swamp cooler, and tickets may be purchased at the door.

AARP will be holding a driving class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 18. Call the center at (208) 642-4223 for more information.

I am happy to report that we will be offering free blood pressure testing on the first and third Fridays of each month from 11 a.m. to noon, courtesy of Lighthouse Hospice and Meadow View Assisted Living & Memory Care.

Line dance and lose weight! Join us every Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. to exercise by learning to line dance. There is no fee and people of all ages are welcome.

The Payette Senior Center continues to offer meals every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to people of all ages. Salad bar is available at 11:30 a.m. followed by a very nice meal at noon.

Pinochle players, we play every Monday at 12:30 p.m. and Thursday at noon.

Do not forget our Wednesday evening dance and potluck. Music is provided by the Ace of Diamonds and the fun begins at 6 p.m.

Our thrift store, which is manned by volunteers, looks forward to greeting shoppers and welcoming donations. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
