PAYETTE — At its regular meeting on Nov. 21, the Payette City Council approved the awarding of a contract to Warrington Construction of Ontario for the replacement of a water line along Fifth Avenue North. Warrington was the only bidder to submit a sealed quote for the project, despite HECO Engineers requesting quotes from three companies.
The contract price for the project is $149,677.
“We have reviewed all of the documentation provided with the quote, and all of it is complete and accurate to the best of our knowledge,” wrote City Engineer Doug Argo. “We recommend awarding the project to Warrington Construction.”
According to Argo, the project is part of the city’s capital improvement plan, as it relates to water flow to fire hydrants. He said he anticipated bids for the project would come in higher than $150,000.
Councilor Mike Kee moved to award the contract to Warrington. The motion carried with a roll call vote of 6-0.
