NEW PLYMOUTH — New Plymouth residents were treated to a round of sugar-cookie decorating at City Hall just before a tree lighting on Tuesday evening.

Kids of all ages filled the space that normally serves as the City Council chambers in order to spread frosting and sprinkles on fresh-baked cookies.

Following the festive goodie decorating, residents walked down to Co-Op Park where “Frosty the Snowman,” was projected on a screen just to the side of the city’s tree.

The sound of a fire engine arriving at the scene let visitors know that Santa Claus had arrived, and with that, the tree officially lit up amid the sounds of Christmas music being played over loudspeakers.
