Local hospice recognized as one of best places to work in health care

Heart ’n Home Hospice & Palliative Care in Fruitland has provided 26 new Nissan Versa vehicles to its employees that boast the center’s recent listing as one of the best places to work in healthcare in the nation.

FRUITLAND — Heart ‘n Home Hospice & Palliative Care has been selected by Modern Healthcare as one of the 2018 Top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare. This is the fifth year Heart ‘n Home has received this award.

“Whether on the frontline or in the top office, healthcare employees witness moments that can either inspire or dishearten them. That can take a toll on an individual and healthcare organizations must take extra steps to ensure that highs and lows during the workday don’t impact engagement or performance,” said Modern Healthcare Editor Aurora Aguilar. “This year’s best places to work, voted on by the employees themselves, exemplify what it takes to maintain dedication and satisfaction among its employees and that is the key to good patient care. Congratulations to this year’s winners and we look forward to celebrating with you in September.”

“Being recognized nationally as a best place to work is a tremendous honor. We’re grateful and humbled by the recognition received by such an award, but it will always come secondary to what responses we receive from our staff. For us, having 93 percent of staff engaged in Heart ‘n Home and the work that they do is #1! We participate because we want to know what we’re doing ‘right’ as well as the areas where we can improve. I truly believe Heart ‘n Home has the best staff in the world!” Says Kristopher Stice, Co-President of Heart ‘n Home.

This award program identifies and recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry nationwide. Modern Healthcare partners with the Best Companies Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey. Heart ‘n Home will be honored at the Best Places to Work in Healthcare awards gala in September.
