Vale — Jury selection began Monday for the trial of Erlene Kay Reger, 50, Ontario, and Todd Mulvaine, 42, Ontario, in the attempted murder case of Ramon Fry.

Robert J. Moon, the lawyer representing Reger, concluded his portion of the jury selection Monday, Malheur County Deputy District Attorney Erin Landis said.

Mulvaine’s lawyer, Janie Burcart, has yet to conclude her jury selection, and Landis said that was expected to end this morning with the opening day of the trial to follow.

Reger, along with her husband Lester Earl Reger, 61, Ontario, and Mulvaine are charged in the attempted murder of Fry, who was shot twice, including a gunshot to the head, in February.

Lester Reger’s trail is in Baker County, and that trial is expected to begin in early December.
