VALE — Calico Resources, a company which has proposed a gold mining project in Malheur County, has been given permission to proceed with collecting data to be included in its formal application for a mining permit from the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries and other regulatory agencies.

DOGAMI is the lead agency in the consolidated application process the company is going through to get a mining permit. In this latest step, Calico has received approval of its baseline data collection methodologies to study the pre-mine conditions at the proposed site at Grassy Mountain, about 25-miles south of Vale. This includes environmental, economic and cultural resources.
