Lazaro Rodriguez signed for track and field with Trinity Lutheran College on Monday. Fruitland High School senior Rodriguez will be going to Everett, Wash. next fall to be on their track team. Rodgriguez’s mother, Amy Salines, and brother, Lorenzo Rodriguez, watched him sign with coach Rena Sitz and FHS Principal Mike Fitz. “He did good by choosing the school,” Salines said of her son’s choice. “Lalo has been an important part of the success of our sprinting program for the last three years,” Coach Sitz said. “Lalo has a strong, explosive start out of the blocks and leads off the majority of our relays. He is such a hard worker both in season and in the off-season and is a natural leader among his peers. ”Trinity Lutheran college will get an outstanding athlete and more importantly an incredible individual. I am so proud of Lalo. It is nice to see hard work pay off for an athlete like Lalo who has put in the effort. Rodriguez will be studying early education at the college.
