Fundraiser set for local athlete
Fruitland
Friends and family members for local athlete Jay Sutton have scheduled a fundraiser, Buzz Cut-A-Palooza, to raise money for Sutton who will undergo majory surgery to remove a tumor from his head.
The fundraiser is scheduled for 7:30 p.m Monday at Fruitland High School gym with the Salon Savvy team doing the cutting.
Each cut will cost a minimum of $50, but individuals can raise as much money as they would like, or they can sponsor someone to get buzzed.
The funds from this event will aid the family with deductibles, travel, lodging, food and other incidentals.

Men’s basketball league ready to start
Ontario
The Ontario Parks and Recreation Department is offering men’s basketball leagues.
Registration has begun, and the cost is $300 per full court team and $90 for half court teams.
Registration will conclude on Tuesday.

McAlpine Memorial Turkey trot slated
Ontario
Treasure Valley Community College’s fifth annual Bob McAlpine Memorial Turkey trot/walk/stroll will take place Thanksgiving morning at the Ontario Train Depot.
Those interested in joining the event are asked to register early by going to www.spondoro.com. Registration will take place on race day as well.
Early registration will cost $15 per person or $50 for a family of four.
On race day, the fees will increase to $20 per person and $60 per family.

Hunter education scheduled
Ontario
A hunter education is being offered in Ontario.
This course is recommended for self-motivated students with good reading and comprehension skills.

Sabercats start
practice
Caldwell
The Snake River Sabercats, of the semi-professional Rocky Mountain Football League, will have one more practice during the month of November. The practice will take place at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at Caldwell High School.
