Sabercats start practice

The Snake River Sabercats, of the semi professional Rocky Mountain Football League, will be holding two practices during the month of November.
The practices will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Caldwell High School, and at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21.

Youth basketball registration
underway
Ontario
The Ontario Parks and Recreation Department is offering youth basketball leagues for boys and girls in first through seventh grades. Registration is underway and will run through Dec. 16.
The cost for this program is $44 and $30 if the participant has a jersey from last year’s season.
Those interested in particapating do not have to be from Ontario to play.

Men’s basketball league ready to start
Ontario
The Ontario Parks and Recreation Department is offering men’s basketball leagues.
Both A leagues, B leagues will be offered as well as an over-30 years old half-court league.
Registration begins Tuesday, and the cost is $300 per full court team and $90 for half court teams. Registration will conclude on Nov. 24.

McAlpine Memorial Turkey trot slated

The Treasure Valley Community College’s fifth annual Bob McAlpine Memorial Turkey trot/walk/stroll will take place Thanksgiving morning at the Train Depot in Ontario.
Those interested in joining the event are asked to register early by going to www.spondoro.com.
Registration will take place on race day as well.
Early registration will cost $15 per person or $50 for a family of four.
On race day, the fees will increase to $20 per person and $60 per family.

2009 NNU Baseball Winter Camp

The Northwest Nazarene University will be hosting a winter baseball camp from Dec. 28 through Dec. 30. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Johnson Sports Center at NNU.
The camp will be for ages 6 to18; campers will be split up into age/skill/position appropriate groups. The cost for the camp is $135. Go to www.nnusports.com to download a camp flier.
