Oct. 7, the Duplicate Bridge Club held a special pairs event with 10 tables in play. Glenora Wright was the director. First overall was won by Anne Slakey and Sue Carlson; second overall, Beth McDaniel and Beverley Kasee; third overall, Mary Ann Beck and Margie Scott; fourth overall, Ingeborg Dickerson and Ray Dickerson; fifth overall, Kris Roberts and Norm Whittet; and sixth overall, Doris Giardina and Leila Brauner. North-south first-place winners were Anne Slakey and Sue Carlson. Placing second were Mary Ann Beck and Margie Scott. Kris Roberts and Norm Whittet placed third in flight A and second in flight B. Kathy Dowen and Darrel Sallaz placed fourth in flight A. East-west first-place winners were Beth McDaniel and Beverly Kasee. Placing second were Ingeborg and Ray Dickerson; third, Doris Giardina and Leila Brauner; fourth, Roy Youngblood and Jim Batchelor. Norma Lucas and Peggy Faylor placed third in flight B. Oct. 12, the Duplicate Bridge Club held a special game, in which players received more master points for winning, with eight tables in play. Beth McDaniel was the director. First overall was won by Lorinda Pearson and Mary Jo Rode; second overall, Jim Batchelor and Roy Youngblood; third overall, Ruby Boyd and Darlene Hamilton; fourth overall, Kris Roberts and Mae Gehrke; and fifth overall, Ingeborg Dickerson and Norm Whittet. North-south first-place winners were Ruby Boyd and Darlene Hamilton. Placing second were Kris Roberts and Mae Gehrke; third, Ingeborg Dickerson and Norm Whittet.
East-west first-place winners were Lorinda Pearson and Mary Jo Rode. Placing second were Jim Batchelor and Roy Youngblood; third, Winnie Henggeler and Dolores Echanis. Diane and Bob Dutton placed second in flight B.
