The Ontario Senior Citizens Center will be having a craft sale and home baked food sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, at the senior center, 698 N.W. Eight Ave., Ontario, one block west of the Ontario Fairgrounds, across from the old armory. There is another craft sale in the works for Dec. 5. Christmas bazaar on tap

The 28th annual Christmas bazaar will be at 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 27 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Boulevard Grange south of Ontario on Highway 201. There will be 30 vendors with many handmade items. The grange ladies will be serving hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, chili, homemade pies and drinks. Tree-lighting ceremony set

A Christmas tree lighting is scheduled to take place at dusk Dec. 5, near the flag pole at Lion’s Park. Kinney & Keele Hardware has donated lights, but the tree-lighting committee is still seeking more light donations, as well as a star to be placed at the top of the tree. Historical society meeting scheduled

The Malheur County Historical Society will have its next meeting at noon Nov. 12, at the Boulevard Grange Hall (near Cairo Junction). All persons planning to attend (members, guests and those wishing to consider joining) are asked to register by Nov. 9 with Tom Gray, (541) 473-2478, Hugh Lackey, (541) 889-5073, or Dorin Daniels, (541) 889-6139, so the cooks can estimate food quantities. Bill Burley, Huntington, will discuss the history of early boat traffic on the Snake River.
