Ore. boarding school license
suspended in abuse probe
PRINEVILLE (AP) — The state has temporarily suspended the license of a Central Oregon boarding school for troubled teens after finding evidence of child abuse and neglect.
Officials told parents to remove their children from Mount Bachelor Academy after investigators found students were subject to inappropriate sexual role-play, public humiliation and physical deprivation. The Oregon Department of Human Services said it had substantiated nine allegations of child abuse and neglect as well as numerous licensing violations.
