Parma repeats as 2A state volleyball champs

Lakeland — The Lady Panthers took the long road to get there, but they defended their state volleyball title Saturday by defeating Nampa Christian twice in the championship game. Parma won the first match 3-1, (14-25, 26-24, 27-25, 25-19), which forced a second match, since Nampa Christian had only one loss in the tournament. In that second match, Parma won 2-0, ( 26-24, 25-20).
Parma began the 2A state tournament with a win over Grace High School (25-17, 18-25, 25-12, 25-22) to advance to the quarterfinals where they dispatched West Jefferson in four games, (25-21, 25-27, 25-22, 25-22). That win vaulted the Lady Panthers to the semifinals where they lost to Nampa Christian in five games, (25-20, 25-27, 25-18, 17-25, 12-15).
The loss dropped the Panthers into a match up against Soda Springs, with the winner advancing to the finals and the loser taking third place.
Parma was quick and decisive in its match against Soda Springs, defeating them in three games, (25-15, 25-14, 26-15).
