Charlene E. Talley

June 9, 1951 - Oct. 27, 2009

Vale

Charlene E. Talley, 58, Vale, died Tuesday, Oct 27, 2009, in Boise, Idaho.  A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Vale LDS Church.  Charlene was born June 9, 1951, in Ventura, Calif., to Lloyd and Shirley Wilkins. She married Lawrence Talley, Jan. 31 1975, in Ojai, Calif. They had two children, Randy and Sandy, while they were still living in Ojai.  They moved to Vale in 1986 and farmed and ranched for three years before returning to California. Missing the laid back country life, they moved back to the Willow Creek area in 1995.

As a youth, she loved horses and dogs and spent hours training horses and showing them.

As an adult, she became interested in team roping through her husband. She and Larry often attended ropings on weekends, taking their young children with them.

Later in life, her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she was often seen with all four of her granddaughters in tow, like a mother duck with her ducklings. She loved to tease and never met a stranger. Everyone she met was a friend. Charlene spent the last decade of her life keeping her men in line in the family business,Vale Mechanical. She was an integral part of the business as she was receptionist, accountant, parts runner and sometimes the mechanics assistant and janitor. She is survived by her husband; her parents; her children, Randy and Jody Talley and Sandy and Jade Thomas; and her granddaughters, Faith and Cassie Talley and Sydnee and Sadie sThomas.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond, and granddaughter, Grace Talley.  The online guest book may be signed and private condolences sent to the family at www.Haren-Wood.com
