Former Nyssa resident hired as elementary principal
SALEM — St. Vincent de Paul School has gotten off to a wonderful start this year with the hiring of a new principal, Hector L. Martinez.
Martinez hails from Nyssa. He received his bachelor of arts degree in physical education and health from Eastern Oregon University.
In 2009, he completed Willamette University’s New Directions in Education leadership program and received his administrative certificate.
Before joining St. Vincent de Paul School, Martinez spent five years as a physical education instructor at Henry Hill Elementary School in Independence, Ore.
He continues to use his expertise and knowledge of physical fitness by providing bi-weekly P.E. instruction to the entire kindergarten through sixth-grade student body.
The students, faculty and staff of St. Vincent de Paul School are excited to have Martinez as the new principal.
Martinez and his leadership team are diligently preparing for an accreditation visit in March 2010. They look forward to the opportunity to share St. Vincent de Paul School’s religious and educational activities and curriculum. |
