Pauline Pond Young
Feb. 22, 1918-Oct. 1, 2009



Roseburg

Pauline Pond Young, age 91, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, in Roseburg, Ore. She was born Feb. 22, 1918, to Amos Russell and Anna Elizabeth (Andrews) Stephens in Nampa, Idaho. Pauline married Kenneth Vernon Pond on July 2, 1938, and together they raised four children: Vernon Russell, Robert John, Carolyn Ann (Ridley)and Marilyn Sue (Baxter). They were married almost 50 years. After Ken’s passing, Pauline married Herman Young, and they were together 14 years. Pauline spent her life enjoying her family and friends, teaching at TVCC in the Learning Center and traveling throughout the world. She was a member of the LDS Church and is survived by her four children and their spouses, 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, all of whom she treasured. Her viewing and funeral will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at the Church of Latter-day Saints Stake Center in Ontario, Ore., 1705 N.W. Fourth Ave., with the viewing from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and the funeral beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Cemetery in Ontario. Services are under the direction of the Lienkaemper Chapel, Ontario. Mom truly loved all of her good friends. On behalf of our family, we would like to express our appreciation to all of you.
