Willa J. Glenn
June 22, 1915-Sept. 28, 2009

Ontario

Willa Josephine Glenn, age 94, of Ontario, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Holy Rosary Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at the Payette Church of the Nazarene, 1984 Seventh Ave. N., Payette, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of XL Hospice, 2480 Hwy 52, Payette, ID 83661. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.

Willa was born June 22, 1915, eight miles south of Venita, Okla., to William and Lizzie Head. It was there she married Warner Glenn in 1932, and they moved to Payette where they farmed for many years until his death in 1945. It was a struggle, but Willa was able to keep their five children together and raised them by the grace of God and much love and support from friends.

In 1950, Willa married John Wells and, once again, farmed in the area. After his death in 1957, Willa went to work for the State of Oregon and lived in the Salem area for 13 years.

She then moved to Visalia, Calif., turning a hobby into a profession and becoming a professional seamstress. After retiring, she married Elgie Olinger and remained in Visalia until his death. In 1996, she returned to Payette, ultimately living her final years at Meadowbrook in Ontario. What Willa would like you to know about her was she was a lifelong Christian and will live for eternity with her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Jim) Glover, of Strathmore, Calif., and Eula (Bill)  Stewart, of Ontario, Ore.; sons, Warner “Dalton” (Julie) Glenn Jr., of Elko, Nev., Lee (Karen) Glenn, of Erie, Colo., and Jess (Julie) Glenn, of Folsom, Calif.; 11 grandchildren;  16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Willa was preceded in death by Warner Glenn, John Wells and Elgie Olinger.
