Noriko Morikawa
Dec. 25, 1913-Sept. 7, 2009

Noriko Morikawa, age 95, passed away Sept. 7, 2009, at Holy Rosary Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m . Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at the Community United Methodist Church, Ontario, Ore., under the direction of Lienkaemper Thomason Funeral Center.

Noriko was born Dec. 25, 1913 in Ammon, Idaho, to Yonejiro and Kiyono Nakao.

She graduated from high school in Idaho Falls and married Harry Morikawa on Jan. 2, 1932, in Idaho Falls.

In 1937, the family moved to the Ontario area and eventually settled on the Oregon Slope where they farmed and raised their children and retired. Since 1982, Noriko has been residing in Ontario.

Noriko was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, National Chrysanthemum Society, Treasure Valley Mum Society, Park Improvement Club, JACL and the Extension Club. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, baking, gardening and crafts. She loved sharing with family and friends.

Noriko is survived by her son, Cliff (Mollie) Morikawa, of Ontario; daughters, Dorine Nakamura, of Seattle, Sylvia Morikawa, of Ontario, and Nancy (Henry) Ako, of Culver City, Calif.; son-in-law, Tom Kamimae, of Ontario; grandchildren, Craig (Rita) Kamimae, Tim (Cindy) Kamimae, Duane (Diane) Nakamura, Sheryl (Art) Ako-Munoz, Curtis (Chandra) Nakamura and Janet Kamimae; step-children, Doraine Raichart and Russell Raichart; 10 great-grand children; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Sab (Tomi) Nakao and Ray Nakao; sisters, Mary (Jim) Kajiwara, Ruth Hirano and Elaine (James) Uyeki; and many nieces and nephews.

Noriko was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Morikawa; daughter, Mary Kamimae; grandson, Mark Kamimae; son-in-law, Mits Nakamura; daughter-in-law, Mae Morikawa; grandson, Aaron Morikawa; three brothers and three sisters.
